The TDBC Women's Wing is a dedicated initiative of the Trincomalee District Business Council, aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs in the Trincomalee region. The wing was established to create a supportive environment for women to start, grow, and succeed in their businesses.

The TDBC Women's Wing has been actively working to promote women's entrepreneurship in the region, focusing on areas such as:

1. Training and Capacity Building: The wing provides training and capacity-building programs for women entrepreneurs, covering topics such as business planning, marketing, financial management, and networking. These programs are designed to equip women with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their businesses.

2. Mentorship: The wing pairs women entrepreneurs with experienced mentors who can offer guidance, support, and encouragement. This mentorship program helps women navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship and stay focused on their goals.

3. Networking: The TDBC Women's Wing organizes regular networking events and workshops, providing a platform for women entrepreneurs to connect with each other, share experiences, and learn from each other's successes and challenges.

4. Access to Finance: The wing works with local financial institutions to provide access to financing opportunities for women entrepreneurs. This includes microfinance initiatives, loan schemes, and other forms of financial support.

5. Market Linkages: The TDBC Women's Wing facilitates market linkages between women entrepreneurs and potential buyers, helping them to access new markets and increase their sales.

Some of the notable success stories of women entrepreneurs supported by the TDBC Women's Wing include:

* A group of women started a small-scale textile manufacturing business, which has grown significantly since receiving training and mentorship from the wing.

* A woman entrepreneur launched a successful food processing business, thanks to the wing's support in accessing financing and market linkages.

* A collective of women farmers established a cooperative to sell their produce directly to consumers, benefiting from the wing's training and networking opportunities.

Overall, the TDBC Women's Wing has made a significant impact on promoting women's entrepreneurship in the Trincomalee region. By providing training, mentorship, networking opportunities, access to finance, and market linkages, the wing has empowered many women to start or grow their businesses.
